On Monday, May 7, 18:00 professor Robert van Voren is inviting to the film screening „Woody Allen: A Documentary“ (2011) at VMU Department of Public Communications (S.Daukanto st. 28, Room 101). The film talks about early years of Allen Stewart Koenigsberg (alias Woody Allen), one of the greatest filmmakers of our time.
On Wednesday, 7 March, at 6 p.m., Dr. Kristin Swenson (Butler University, Indiana) will read a public lecture titled Pharmaceutically Induced ‘Abilities-Machines’: Foucault and the Rhetoric of Pharmaceutical Advertising at the VMU Faculty of Political Science and Diplomacy (Gedimino Str. 44, Room 203).
On November 15-16, European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) in cooperation with Vytautas Magnus University and Birmingham City University & Pokitin Belgium brings together participants from Belgium, United Kingdom and Lithuania in a practical training workshop, focusing on an inclusive way of media content development.
On October 10, Monday, 1.15 p. m., Eric Freedman, JD, a Fulbright Scholar in the Department of Public Communications at Vytautas Magnus University and associate professor of Journalism at Michigan State University, will deliver public lecture – „Black & White and the White House: Race, the Presidency and Barack Obama's Victory“.
The lecture will be held at the Faculty of Political Science and Diplomacy, room 203, Gedimino st. 44.
On October 14, International Colloquium "Between Adoption and Adaptation: Contemporary Perspectives on Journalism and Media Change in Central Europe" will be held at Vytautas Magnus University in Kaunas (VMU), Lithuania. The diverse issues that will be addressed by the speakers many of whom come from the Central European countries will cover a broad spectrum of ideas related to ongoing changes and transformations as well as emerging challenges that contemporary journalism and media professionals, scholars, policy makers need to address in diverse political and cultural contexts. Media Research Center headed by Prof. Auksė Balčytienė at VMU is the organiser of this event.
The Brian Faul Foundation together with The Baltic Times, are pleased to announce the launch of a pan Baltic Journalism competition.
